Objectives

We will establish learning resource platform dedicated to Sustainable Entrepreneurship, Health and Wellbeing. To Disseminate Sustainable Entrepreneurship, Health and Wellbeing best practice by research-driven training, qualification and continuous professional development.

We will Engage and advocate for policymaking that fosters sustainable approaches to entrepreneurship, health and wellbeing.
Our Founders

Bio: Lowellyne James

Dr Lowellyne James is an academic, author and consultant with a vision to transform business culture towards building sustainably managed enterprises that create products and services without negative environmental impact e.g. greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs), instilled with a social purpose and achieve profitability. To realise this vision to combat climate change he seeks to grant free access to certified sustainability strategy training and mentoring to entrepreneurial start-ups and small to medium sized businesses (SMEs) which are normally constrained in terms of human and financial resources but nonetheless account for 98% of all businesses in the economy.

Recently appointed Chair, Sustainability Committee, American Society for Quality (ASQ), Fellow of the Chartered Quality Institute and Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.

Formerly the Course Leader for the MSc in Quality Management at the Aberdeen Business School, an Ambassador of the Chartered
Management Institute and Chairman of the Chartered Quality Institute North of Scotland branch. An External Examiner for the University of the
West of England and University of Bradford, he is keen to support the dissemination of best practice in sustainability, corporate social
responsibility and environmental management.

During 20 years’ experience in the development, implementation of environmental and CSR he has conducted ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and
OHSAS 18001 training during which as a Lloyd’s Register of Quality Assurance (LRQA) Associate. Amongst his achievements, he has
accomplished the following:

• Author of Sustainability Footprints in SMEs – Strategy and Case Studies for Entrepreneurs and Small Business, John Wiley & Sons, ISBN:
978-1-118-77943-9, January 2015 which was reviewed in the November 2015 issue of the European Business Review. The book explores the
evolution of sustainability footprints e.g. carbon footprint and proposes the as a five-step process to help organisations reduce their GHG
emissions and achieve strategic growth utilising illustrative case studies.
• Author of the recently published book Management Systems and Performance Frameworks for Sustainability, Routledge, ISBN-10:
1138648744, May 2018. Through an in-depth exploration of quality management theory and its applicability to supporting environmental and
social governance, this book proposes a ©Sustainability Management Framework as a structure for a balanced approach to developing
operations strategy for CSR. As well as introduces a ©Sustainability Performance Framework that can help organisational leaders to
operationalise United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and compliance obligations
into discrete activities of value setting, management system and performance model selection, target setting and evaluation, to the tactical
deployment of sustainability and CSR.
• Founding Member, Advisory Panel on Sustainability Activities, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, 2009 – 2014. Contributing to the
development of the CSR Reporting Template, drafting the best practice CSR Report demonstrating GHG management in a small to medium
sized enterprise and supporting the establishment of the ICAS Sustainability Essay Competition aimed at inspiring accounting students to
review the contribution of their professional practice to sustainability and reducing climate change impacts of business.
• Event Speaker delivering a seminar entitled How to Protect your business from Global Megaforces, UN Global Climate Action Summit 2018.
• Pioneered the development of the ©Certificate in Sustainability Strategy which was approved by the Institute of Environmental Management
Assessment (IEMA). Specifically, he has facilitated the ©Certificate in Sustainability Strategy training and understanding of the Sustainable
Strategic Growth Model to leading international organisations such as Tarmac, Ferrovial Agroman, Asanko Gold and the Scottish Agricultural
Society.
• Event Speaker, UN Global Climate Action Summit 2018
• Delivered a keynote presentation entitled The Sustainable Strategic Growth Model – moving beyond single use packaging at the 2nd European Packaging Congress, Frankfurt, Germany
• Member, U.S. Technical Advisory Group to ISO/Technical Committee 207
• Member, ASQ Z1 Subcommittee on Environmental management systems (Z1E)

Dr James is committed to continuous professional development participating as an event keynote speaker at industry conferences, reviewing management and technical books on behalf of both the Chartered Quality Institute, Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment
and has actively supported the Chartered Management Institute Management Book of the Year award program since its inception. In moments
of reflection shares his thoughts on social media and his personal blog with lectures being made available to the public on Youtube.

Sian Young | Sustainability Ambassador for the UK Health Coaching Association a UN Global Climate Change Summit and TEDxWomen
International Speaker and a Multi-Award Winning coach, international speaker published author, and consultant with a vision to transform
business culture towards building sustainable health & wellbeing into the fabric of business.

To realise this vision to transform the health of the human race and inspire action in sustainability strategy uptake she seeks to grant free access to Sustainable Health & Wellbeing training and mentoring to entrepreneurial start-ups and small to medium sized businesses (SMEs) which are normally constrained in terms of human and financial resources but nonetheless account for 98% of all businesses in the economy.

Sian Young has been in the Health & Wellness industry for over 20 years helping over 5000 women feel well in their lives.
In this time Sian some of her achievements are as follows:

• Two awards for business excellence, Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year 2008 and Highly Commended Fitness destination 2010
• Published her Biography detailing her journey from homelesness to Award winning entrepreneur

• Co-Founder The Center for Sustainable Action a cooperative enterprise to support her aim of changing the face of business for both
health & sustainability as they are indeed intertwined.

After studying Dr James’s Sustainable Strategic Growth Model and using her expertise in health & wellbeing Sian Young created the © SHaW Method (Sustainable Health & Wellbeing Method) a 5 step pathway to creating sustainable health & wellbeing for both individuals and
organisations from these findings and Sian’s experience of transforming her life from homeless to multi-award winning entrepreneur she also
created The © MEB Formula, 3 keys to ensure sustainable health & wellbeing.

Sian is committed to professional and personal development and is currently studying a diploma in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Vegan Cooking and training for a marathon to raise money for The Samaritans. Sian is fully committed to translating researched knowledge into a language that SMEs and entrepreneurs can understand and adopt creating Action in sustainability, supporting the 95% of business to influence policy creating a Sustainable and Healthy working culture.
